So, I've been off DA for a while. Like, a couple years...
Well, I've been playing with Apophysis again, got some stuff I thought looks good, and thought "Hey, you know who might like this? The internets!" So, I'm dumping a bunch of stuff I've made over the course of the year. As usual, the names will suck, because I suck at names. Some of the resolutions will probably also be funky, since I've been rendering stuff mostly to use as wallpapers on my laptop, which is widescreen, so 1280 x 800 resolution. I'll work on re-rendering these in more normal resolutions.
I think I'm getting better results now thanks to the new stuff in newer versions of Apophysis, mostly being able to pretty easily do a full-screen render of something and being able to see the differences. Also, I've become better at doing the whole making small changes, see if it looks better, repeat process as well as figuring out what each transform in the fractal is doing (which, again, the new visualization stuff in the newer versions of Apophysis helps)
Anyway, for both of you out there that care what's going on with the rest of my life, I'm at Carnegie Mellon University now, which is, overall, a pretty sweet school. If you've heard of us, it's probably because of the DARPA grand challenge (big red robotic humvees, desert racing, good times), with which I am not involved in any way shape or form. Doing fairly decent here, though I seem to have managed to fall into some kind of antisocial slump when I ought to be out doing the whole college thing and meeting people. Oh well. I can't think of anything else terribly interesting, and don't see why most people out there on the internets would care, so, uh, talk to me over IM or something if you actually care.
